Below are the answers to some of the questions we are most frequently asked. Please call our office if you have any additional questions or are interested in registering with our agency. At that time, we will discuss your qualifications and the type of position you desire.

  WHAT DO YOU DO?
We maintain listings of schools in need of educators and college graduates who are seeking positions in education. Vacancies are received daily, and as they are listed, we search our database for qualified candidates. Candidates are then notified of an opening, and if they are interested, their credentials are promptly forwarded to the appropriate school official for their consideration.

WHAT GEOGRAPHIC AREA DO YOU COVER?
Most of our placements are made in Connecticut and Westchester County, New York. We also serve selected schools throughout New York and New England.

WHAT TYPE OF POSITIONS DO YOU HAVE?
Each year we have thousands of positions listed with us for all grades kindergarten through twelfth. Our vacancies are in all areas of education including teaching, guidance, administration, and special services.

   AM I QUALIFIED?
If you have at least a bachelor's degree, you are qualified to work in private schools, as most do not require courses in education. To teach in a public school, you must be certified, which requires a certain number of education courses as well as student teaching or previous experience.

   WHAT SALARY WOULD I RECEIVE?
Salary depends on a number of things, such as years of experience and the degree you hold. In many cases, salary is negotiable. Below are some approximate salaries for different types of schools:

Private Schools: Beginners are paid approximately between $25,000 and $35,000, with most receiving between $27,000 and $30,000. Experienced teachers can make as high as $35,000-$55,000.

Public Schools: Most schools start a beginning teacher at approximately $35,000. A person with many years of experience could receive as high as $80,000, and up to $125,000 for an administrative position.

IS THERE A CHARGE FOR YOUR SERVICE?
There is no charge to register with our agency, but if you accept a position to which we refer you, there is a fee of 7.5% of your first year's compensation. Some of the private schools pay the fee for the candidate.

AM I STILL FREE TO PURSUE POSITIONS ON MY OWN?
YES! We keep an accurate list of any schools you wish to handle on your own. This list is updated each time we talk to you.

WHAT CAN YOU DO FOR ME THAT I CAN'T DO FOR MYSELF?
As you can imagine, over forty years in business and over 10,000 placements have provided us with a lot of valuable contacts. We have the most extensive and up-to-date list of vacancies available. In addition, please consider the following benefits of registering with our agency:

We will help you develop a complete and attractive placement file.

When you express an interest in one of our vacancies, your file is sent promptly to the school.

Trying to reach school officials to convince them how well qualified you are for their position can be frustrating and unproductive. Much of our time is spent in this area.

Many of our vacancies are not advertised.

Vacancies are filled and new ones develop on a regular basis. To keep an up-to-date list of these vacancies is very time consuming; our placement counselors are involved each day in developing and updating our list.
